HEINEKEN: LEGENDARY
Making Heineken less like your dad’s beer.

Heineken had sophistication, international cool, and decades of heritage.
It also had one slightly inconvenient problem: young Thai drinkers thought it belonged to their dads.
We needed to make the brand feel relevant without dressing it up like a teenager. Legendary was built around a simple idea: everyone is legendary at something.
The campaign became a web-film series featuring ordinary men with unexpectedly specific hidden talents, celebrating a more eccentric, entertaining kind of masculinity.
My team and I had fun finding the line between genuinely impressive and just slightly ridiculous. The writing needed to feel witty and confident, while the films treated each wonderfully unnecessary talent with the seriousness of a major sporting achievement.
The campaign gave a heritage beer a younger sense of humour without abandoning the confidence that made it Heineken.
Because being legendary does not always mean changing the world. Sometimes it means being alarmingly good at one very strange thing.
