Neighborly love - a mural for gary, IN

During my 2023 trip to the US., I got together with #paintgary to create a mural in the "abandoned" city of Gary, Indiana.

Gary is a special town.

As we drove through the streets, you can see relics from the time Gary used to be known as "the magic city" Today, Gary is considered an abandoned town and you can feel the loneliness of the abandoned quietly pulsating throughout the streets and avenues.

That's how the idea of "Neighbors" came about. I wanted to make a hopeful piece for those who live here, to highlight the significance of community and how resilience can be found just by reaching out to those closest to you.

On top of the mural, I also got interviewed by The Times of Northwest Indiana for a featured story on the mural.
